I was tasked to design a new, fun theme for DMACC’s Portfolio Day website. What I came up with was a Harry Potter inspired design that resembled the fictional Daily Prophet newspaper featured in the series. Desktop and mobile wireframes were created to show how the “old newspaper” look could be achieved. A key element of the design is animated GIFs being used for all the sepia colored images in the newspaper, similar to what is seen in the movies. Another design feature is spoof advertisements included on the homepage to add an element of whimsy.
